I had a fabulous week away from my "real" job last week so I had a little time for my real passion...creating!
New stuff added to the shop!
AND...more to come this week! Yay me!!
New summer Hobos...
X-Large Tote ...for the market, beach or overnight getaway!
Bright Yellow Flower Pin...coming soon!
Lots of large shoulder bags coming this week too!! Busy busy....
Tried my hand at skirt and hat making...did okay.
Think I'll try it again now that I can read a pattern...but I doubt I'll sell either in the shop! I feel more confident making bags than I do clothing! Someday...

I have been M.I.A. But, let's face it, I know I don't have many people that read but I have high hopes of someday...
Someday working in my home office all day, blogging, playing with fabrics, cutting, ironing, pining, sewing, marketing my bags, pricing, packaging and shipping LOTS of bags. So many that I can't keep up!
In the meantime, I'll try to keep up with posts!
Here's my current crush...
Obviously, I'm a fan of the boho look. I love the flair jeans, peasant blouses, platforms, feathered hair and flowy dresses...another look I LOVE is the head scarfs. I love Nicole Richie's look. So effortless but so chic!
Do you like the head scarf look? Have you tried it?

We constantly talk about the future and what we want in a home. Being the one that LOVES to be in the kitchen, that is the first place my mind wanders. We love the house we live in but it isn't the perfect house to have children. We have talked about what we would want in a home and we know it would need to be a house we could renovate to meet our needs. I have a laundry list of things I want but the kitchen is on the top of the list. Here are a few that I would take in a minute!!!

I love the dark wood cabinets. I LOVE the idea of a sofa in an eat in kitchen. So cozy for a couple that eats together at the table almost every night {we do!!}.

I'm a huge fan of mixing new and old, rustic and shiny. And the detailed ceiling is icing on the cake!!

Another mix of traditional and modern. These dark cabinets and white make this feel like a room you want to hang out in!!!

Talk about a mix!!!! This kitchen has brick, wood, metal, granite...everything!! Texture and interests all over...

How awesome is this butcher block and storage unit???

I think open, airy, light and functional are definitely the keys to my dream kitchen!! What are yours???
cheers.

Our day started early with sunrise service. I think this will be a tradition we keep for many years. I haven't been to sunrise service since 1992. I was full of emotion but at complete peace. New phases of my life happen every single day.
Then we headed to another church service...a not so ordinary service. It was a beautiful, sad, happy, humbling, powerful and joyful re-enactment of Christ's last days starting with the last supper. I have never experienced a drama with such movement. I sat there the entire hour thinking, I am not worthy. Clearly, I needed this today.
After lunch, we headed to one of our favorite spots in Blowing Rock for Easter lunch. I had someone take our picture but when I looked on my camera, no picture was there! ;(
I worry about work tomorrow...after a great weekend and some real reflection time...I feel upbeat and positive. I worry because when I walk in the door, I feel such anxiety and negativity. I learned a lot at a seminar on Thursday that I want to incorporate within my team but will changes make it the right place for me?? I am in constant prayer on the way to work, during my work day and after work about where I should be...and while I feel a great tugging that I'm not there...I also do not have the ability to make that change just yet.
I know God has great things in store for me and I must continue to believe that I am where I am for His purpose.
cheers.

I had really good intentions on getting this up earlier but...well...it didn't happen!! Here are a few things I am obsessed with now. This is an ever changing lists...

Lip Gloss.

Best Moisturizer for Spring/Summer

Winter Face Moisturizer...seriously...

I just discovered this scent by Jennifer Anist*n when I received a free sample!! I immediately ordered a bigger size.

Clinique Mascara...I've searched for 25 years for a great mascara and I've finally found one I love!!
and I love the Clinique Foundation as well. Lightweight but plenty of coverage!!
I'll probably be adding the Moroccan Oil after my hair appointment this week. My hair dresser used this product and I'm telling you, that stuff is fabulous!! My hair smells and feels {still} great!!!
What are your favorites???
cheers!!

I have a confession....
I love food.
I love food.
Look, I'm just a girl that eats.
I love all foods...sweet, salty, crunchy, creamy...you name it! I love my kitchen and I love cooking!! I choose to make meals as "real" as I can. I do have a few exceptions but for the most part, we eat real food, organic, grass fed, no preservatives kind of stuff.
I go through phases where I love something and just can't get enough!!! Here is my ever changing obsession list...I am currently loving...
Spinach + Artichoke Hummus {love} with baby carrots. I could eat this at every meal.

Almond Butter + Honey + Bagel Thin = oh, joyful breakfast
+

And my favorite snack...hellooooo lover...

Enough about food. I'll post some beauty favs tomorrow! What are your food obsessions?
Until then...Happy EATING!!!
xoxo.
cheers!

I have been so busy preparing for my first event, I haven't had time to blog! Between my real job and my "love" job I can't keep up! BUT I am not complaining!! I love to be busy and I love to be going all the time. So, Saturday was my first event in Hickory. I have my bags at a store in Noda (Charlotte, NC) and have been to an art crawl there a few times but Saturday was my first real showing in Hickory.
Unfortunately, Andy was out of town so I had to recruit some help! Thanks to my awesome dad for bringing tables and helping me set-up the tent and organize my bags. My mom was there as well, stuffing bags so they could "sit up". Overall, I think it looks pretty good. I have some ideas for my next time...crossing my fingers there is a next time!
I had some help with cutting and ironing the last few weeks. Honestly, had I not had this help...I would have never been able to whip out 60 bags. I feel good about my inventory and a little break but will back in my office/sewing room sooner than later.
My best friend Erika came and helped me all day! Well, at least until the storm blew in.
Overall, the day was a success. I was disappointed in the weather. I had hoped to be out there until 7pm but when the lightening started, we had to pack up.
I worked for a couple of months to build my inventory. Weekends and week nights I was consumed with fabric, patterns and ideas.
Hopefully someday {soon} I can enjoy more of this type of "work"! :)
It's still so unreal to me that I started my etsy shop only 7 months ago. So much has happened and I feel so blessed!!!
Look for some new flowers and a new pouch in the very near future!!
Off to run my long run...or walk/run... :) It is beautiful weather today!!
cheers!

Currently, I'm obsessing over all things yellow. Typically, this is not a color I've ever really worn or used in decorating my home! However, I have a guest bath with a shower curtain that has a yellow stripe...so now I'm obsessed with brightening this bathroom up with some yellow!!
Here are a few of my favorites...
